Found a brand new Curt hitch with wiring on craigslist in my town for 125$. So that went on today. Rusted bolts were a PITA to be frank..

Replaced my harbor freight bumper mounted hitch.

LOL. Working on it for sure. I don't think I would have much luck selling it though. Not because it's a bull bar, but because I'm all the way in CT and shipping it would probably be an arm and a leg.

I have one installed. I like it overall but highly doubt that it has any cooling benefit. I just wanted it to fill in that huge gap. I do have the magnetic tray. Here is a link to when I installed it in my build thread:

After looking at my build thread I have discovered that I am long overdue updating it and that I never followed up with an additional review of the product.

I found the tray to not quite fit exactly right, causing some rubbing in a few places that actually wore away some paint. So I trimmed a few pieces off the tray in a few select areas, touched them up with black paint, touched up the places under the hood that had been worn away down to bare metal, put a few pads in a few select places and called it a day. If you have one installed you might want to check it out closely for wear points.

 

You might be able to hit that with fabric paint, in order to have it blend in quite a bit more.

 

I installed the LED map, dome, plate and backup lights, making sure they all worked as I went along. Once finished with installing the backup lights, went back into the cab and noticed that none of those lights were now working. I'm assuming I blew a fuse. Too dark to check tonight (plus I don't even know where fuse panel is!). Gonna figure out which one covers those lights and see if it's blown.

 

Just crawled underneath this evening to check my drive shaft bolts and to grease it. I already checked and greased it my last oil change however even though "toyota says" to grease every 15,000 km, I thought I'd check and see how it was. Bolts were all nice and snug however the u joints needed grease. Ended up putting in 8-10 pumps before it started to push past the seals, so I put in about 12 till I could see the new grease purg out.

Truck is all happy now

 

Took the kids up to Owen lake near Laramie Wyoming to ride our ATV's ave whatnot... finally busted out my SwitchBack Tailgate Pads. Didn't take my hard cover off before leaving but it worked perfectly for creating shade! Think it will be perfect for transporting bikes and definitely making a comfortable seat to tailgate with. Anyone else have one?
