Ya. The bag itself is nice, but it sucks because you can't store the mavic in there at all. You could store the controller and maybe 2 batteries in there and thats about it.

Ya it's really stupid, I don't get the point of it. I now keep my micro SDs in there, the car charger, and other cables in there (iPhone cable and android cables) and my tablet holding adapter for the controller

See below pictures of the case.

And here's the bag I bought:

:notsure: I haven't tried it like that. But, even if you do store it like that, there's no room for any batteries in there.

Once again buy the Mavic. Eventually you will get tired of the Spark and wish you would have bought the Mavic since it does so much more.

It's worthless. But the bag is not what I bought the Mavic for. I bought it for it's portability. If the bag is the only thing holding you back I wouldn't worry. Again... eventually you will wish you bought the Mavic. 27 mins of flight time and 3 batteries (which you can charge in the car) will net you over an hour of flying while you charge the batteries.

    1. I don't like how jam packed everything is in there. That scares me.
    2. It only holds 2+1 batteries, I'll have a 4th soon enough and it won't fit.

So, I guess it can be done, I just don't like it. I bought a bigger and more protective bag that I can fit nearly everything in to.

I'll probably be getting one of these before I take my trip to North Carolina so I don't have to bring along my big bag. I'll just bring the Mavic, Controller, and then the batteries and charger. Won't be bringing along all my extra stuff I use like my tablet holder and stuff like that.

I just keep all my stuff (drone, remote, iPad, all batteries, chargers, etc... in my bag with my DSLR bag with all my lenses and everything else. Of course my bag is rather large but I use it for a multitude of purposes.

I won't speak bad on the Mavic, it's a solid drone, but the Spark doesn't need the controller to fly like the Mavic does, which makes it great for vacations because it can fit into a case like this one which you can carry onto a plane without any stress or raised eyebrows. That case also fits behind the seats in the Tacoma. Oh, and the Spark has photo modes that the Mavic doesn't have, like two Pano modes.

Either way, I promise you'll be happy. Just remember that crashing a 500.00 drone hurts way less than a 1000.00 model as a first time operator. :luvya:

Part of that was me not going manual on the settings, even in auto, that isn't a terrible picture. I would prefer the mechanical shutter and 1" Sony CMOS of the P4A/P for night shots though.

You can easily make panographic shots with the Mavic. Either in portrait mode or landscape. The second shot... Did you use Adobe Lightroom to process it? Second thing... Can the Spark take bracketed shots in RAW format? Just curious since I haven't looked. HDR is what I look for in a drone much like you look for panographic mode. Personally I bought the Mavic for video more than photo mode. But photo mode can make for a nice shot also. The Mavic (like the Spark) can also use hand gestures. Tripod mode is great for tight places. Thing is... I like to have more control over the craft than the Spark provides but that's just a personal opinion.

If you have an iPhone 5s or higher try stitching a highres panorama with it and see if the result if is good enough for your task. The Mavic will work just fine for panographic shots. Try it in different light conditions or better at the real location and time to really judge noise and dynamic range. Also sharpness will not be the same as a top of the line DSLR with a good lens on either craft.

I HIGHLY suggest using Adobe Lightroom for your photo shots. The first shot is a what it actually looked like. The second shot is post processed with Lightroom in RAW format.

Second shot processed taken a few mins later. In the in the first shot you can not make out the trees. The second shot I was able to bring out the trees just a bit.

I tried flying in the mountains while camping and it was a big no go(at least 11000 ft elev). I couldn't get it more than a couple feet off the ground. I know I have a cheapy drone(Promark). It did fine at my house(around 5000-6000 ft elev).

question for the drone guys...has anyone flown at high elevation? If so, do you know of different blades to use or try more powerful motors? does the Mavic or Phantom have enough lift right out of the box?

Molas Pass in Colorado at about 2 miles out with the Mavic above 11,000'. Keep in mind that this is a unprocessed shot and I start recording before I leave the ground and stop when I'm close to landing. You never know what is going to be a good shot (or a filler shot) until you actually go back and look through the video. I've been too lazy to process it so far and obviously I won't use but a few mins of this shot. But I flew the Mavic much higher than 11,000 feet on that trip with no issues.

*EDIT* I only flew 2 miles out even though the range is much further. If you encounter strong winds that are moving in the direction of the craft you run the risk of not getting it back. Besides I see no reason to fly it much further even with a 27 min flight time. I also only take video in 2.7k as it gives me a little more headroom to use and causes no shutter roll.

    Lift off at 42 seconds.

There are videos of DJI flying an old phantom around an Everest camp.
Never had any issues with mine above 12k. Opportunities are fewer due to wind is all.

That's good to know. I'll take as my cheapy doesn't have enough motor speed then to get the lift if these other more reasonable platforms are able. I can't imagine the blades being that different in pitch. Guess I'll just have to start saving that coin to get a Mavic

I know on the Inspire they make different props for higher elevation. But that drone weighs almost 8lbs so it needs them. The Mavic doesn't need special props due to the weight of the craft. The motors are very powerful on the Mavic but obviously the motors on the Inspire are much more powerful due to the weight of the craft. That is the reason for more pitched props to handle the thinner air above a certain AGL on the Inspire. The only issue I've found with the Inspire is it is a 10-20 min time to set everything up. That and you have to plan your shots around your day not the other way around. The Mavic you can have ready within a min or two.
