    :::::::EDITED:::::::

    Ok so awhile ago, I made the decision that the bed mount for my 4 gallon Rotopax tank would be the best bet. With having my Treds mounted on my bed rack and in the process of saving for a roof tent, I wanted a good place to mount that would not interfere with the tent folding out. Rotopax makes mounts that utilize the bed rails......now with my side bed rails used up for my ax, shovel and HiLift I was left with the rail at the head of the bed.

    After mounting the new mounts I was a little disappointed, they did not sit under the bed cap and that caused them to be at an angleIMG_1420.jpg

    The supplied mounting hardware was horrible as well so I went on Amazon and ordered some new anchor nuts and some 3/8x16 fasteners as wellIMG_1534.jpg

    So the new hardware was 1 size bigger, so I did have to drill the hole a bit. To fix the issue with it not sitting flush, I used painters tape and pulled a line so it was just below the rail and cut with an angle grinder(not the easiest thing to do on your tailgate) I had to remove 1/4" of material and it worked perfect IMG_1532.jpgIMG_1533.jpg

    Now I am waiting on paint to dry and I will show the final product. I might make some minor adjustments later and add some rubber bumpers to the lower portion so there is no flex.

    Here is some updated pics of the reinstallation

    That 1/4" was just perfect for a nice tight fit.

    Awesome news this is exactly what I needed to see. Have my Rotopax and I am currently waiting on my front bed rail and mounts. Thanks!

    No problem, I wished this info was out there when I made the leap.....I felt obligated to do this write up lol. Next will be some rubber supports at the base. I measured at 11/16" spacing between the base and the back of the bed, so the next step will be getting some 3/4" rubber bumpers which will give a 1/16" back spacing so it has nice constant pressure.

    I know your pain. Trying to get my bed figured out with rail attachments and a MX4 tonneau cover on, which LOWERS side bed rails. From your pics it looks like my pax will fit under the cover like I've been planning on the front bed rail with the mounts. :fingerscrossed:

    Just wait until you have your bed packed and need to use that gas, then you'll never put it there again :)

    No luck at the local Home Depot. I had to go the Amazon route again. IMG_1538.PNG.jpg
    Hopefully this will be a good anti-vibration/stability choice. I guess ya gotta work with whatcha got.

    Touche.

    Actually now that I think about it, I bet if you put the cap on the driver side you could just use an auto syphon without even removing it from the mounts.
