So is it just me or is the sales rep misinformed. Getting charged again to have the shocks sat at 0 factory. Only because it's something I'm requesting. I've been told that some go full height on the shocks to have 3 inch lift and the shop always puts it one notch up for "ride and comfort"... Going up full notch on 5100s with 888 coils...wouldn't that just f*** shit up?

Yes, DO NOT DO THAT. That'll be a seriously harsh ride and cause wayyy too much lift. You may damage something. Set them at 0.

That's what I thought. What a lovely experience. Coughing up another 220 for labour. At least its free alignment since the mechanic owned up to improper alignment experiencing the front shudder/vibrations after a tst drive. I had high hopes for this place since I had three more guys looking to do the same or similar set up with their tacos/4runners...

Sorry to hear that man. Hopefully once you get it reinstalled, it's good to go.

Any rub? I was tempted to go 887s with 285s, but I'll get 885s if it will work.

No rubbing at all at full lock up or downhill. No mods other than the mud flaps are off and the method standard wheels.

There are a lot of factors that determine if you'll rub or not. Alignment, wheel specs, type of tire, etc. so it's impossible to say with certainty. Most guys who run 285s and off road need to do a CMC.

What did you end up with for a center hub to fender measurement?

Thank you Sir. I got 22" with the same set-up, and I was expecting a little more. I probably should have gone with 887.

That's not much taller than I was stock on 12 year old suspension. I'm sitting at 24" on my front.

I'm at around 23" on drivers and around 23 1/2" on passengers side. I've got the taco lean going on lol

Is "taco lean" something that needs to be fixed or do people just obsess over it?

I've owned and lifted two tacomas, and never had the taco lean.

I've never checked (measured) any before. I've lifted 5 tacomas, 3 tundras, 2 fjs, and 2 4runners. Just never paid attention to it and didn't even realize it was a thing until this forum. Just didn't know if it was something that needs to be addressed or if people's OCD was taking over.

I think it's people obsessing over being the same exact measurements on both sides. Sure, some may be visible to the naked eye but I bet most aren't.

I don't think mine is but even if it is it will be just because I'm looking for it IMO. Just wanting to make sure I wasn't missing something. My measurements from center hub to fender are "approximately" (it's dark) lol
    DF - 23"
    PF - 23 1/2"
    DR - 23"
    PR - 24"
