I have a 2012 Taco, 4wd, Dbl Cab 6 cyl. SR5 Package. It was purchased new. The truck has 64,000 miles on it. At what point should I have the belts and hoses changed? Thank You

Installed Overhead Compass and Temperature Display along with outside temperature sensor and wiring; LED lights reverse backup; LED license plate lights; Added GTA Bluetooth Audio kit to stock radio for iphone audio; Spare tire steel braided air hose extension connection to rear bumper; Installed new headlights along with new bulbs PIAA H4 XTreme and for fog lights PIAA H10 XTreme bulbs. Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.

Hahaha!..70K-90K max!.......I recently changed the belt on my 2008 Tacoma which has well over 200,000 miles on it and quickly coming up on 10 years old now. Hose's look fine too.

Seriously though, check/inspect your belt (using a flashlight helps) and make sure there are no visible cracks, nicks, stress lines, etc. If you see even what may appear to be anything suspect, then change it out. It's quick and easy to do, just double check and make sure you get the right belt for your engine type. Better yet just buy it at the dealership parts department.

I change belts at 60k miles.

Hoses I replace at ten years old, no matter what they look like on the outside.

And put your old belt in the truck. It's always good to have a spare belt with you. You never know when you might need a belt at midnight, or on a holiday, or 20 miles out in the woods.

I totally agree 100% because, well you just never know. That's what I did with my old belt, have it stashed in the back compartment.
