    The tire calculator shows a 315 x 50 x 20 a pinch shorter than a 285 x 75 x 16

Is that what you are thinking of using?

There's no hard and fast amount. The best way to find out (I'm not joking here) is to remove the front shocks, mount the wheels/ tires on the truck, and trim until there's no rubbing when you turn the steering wheel from side to side. Your lift will have zero to do with how much trimming you'll need.

It's the 10" wide wheels with the -44 offset that will make it rub bad. The tires will be sticking out way way past the fender and will be raping his cab mount and firewall, possibly the front of the fender too.
