My OEM battery lasted almost three years. Bought the truck in August 2011; died June 2014. The June 2014 battery died on me without warning this past Sunday (38 months).

Who cares? I've had a battery last 10 years, and ones that lasted less than 3 years.
What, are you not going to replace it when it's dead?

My stock 27F battery is a little over two years old but still going strong and onboard volt gauge still reads 13 volts. But today I scored a deal I could not pass up. My battery vender(Battery Systems) gave me a Northstar 27F AGM for only $120 + tax. These retail for well over $300. Most likely will put my stock battery on Craigslist or sell to a local member here in San Diego for a great price.

    That's freaking awesome!!
Mine died a couple of years ago on a hot and humid June day. Surprised the hell out of me after some -40 F days over the past few winters here in the Great Northern Woods...

As a followup: Just finished installing a NAPA Legend 27f to replace the dead OEM. I have for the last several years replaced the original battery with an Optima Redtop, but with all the negative reviews I've read about the short life on the Optimas since they're now made in Mexico, I chose to go with the NAPA. National warranty and they are all over the place so a warranty claim should it be needed will be easy.

My OEM Truestart replacement battery lasted 2 years 1 month. I am done with Truestart batteries. Got a Northstar 31m replacement in a Pelfreybilt battery tray.

I just replaced mine today after 6 and a half years. It would still start the truck, but I've been noticing a sag in cranking power over the last couple of months. Bought a Duracell Ultra Gold from Batteries Plus as a replacement.

Mine is now 6 years old - it has less than its cold cranking amp rating remaining though. Replacing it with either an Optima Yellow or Blue top, otherwise or Walmart EverMaxx battery 'best' tier battery.

4 years, 1 month and roughly 3 weeks. Started flawlessly until yesterday morning when I heard it drag just slightly. Nothing left on what so ever.. and it did start, but I heard the drag. Drove to the fire station and in the evening I went to move it to a different spot in the parking lot and nothing. Pretty much expected it to either drag again or not start. Jumped it and the Capt let me take it to the auto parts to put a new one in. mileage is 27,6xx .. but heat is the killer here. Doesn't really seem matter how pricey or cheap the battery is, you're usually only gonna get roughly 4 years. I did have an optima that went 6-7 years, but had other red tops that gave up the ghost right around 4.
