I hope this is the right section for this. 2017 Off Road 4x4, around 4k miles 5 months old. On Sunday I was driving and suddenly the truck turned off and a couple of warnings came off. I had it towed home. Taking to the dealer on Thursday just wanted to know what to expect.

Just had another guy report the same exact thing. Dealer is stating that its a bad cat, but a lot of guys are stating that it sounds like a bad CPS. Could be both?

Well likely could be both - bad CPS will screw up air/fuel ratios big time in my experience. dumping excess fuel into your exhaust can screw up your cats. Did you ever have your transmission fluid manually checked? Low fluid there would cause the temp to exceed limits, but probably wouldn't cause all of the other lights you showed.

UM... Op states his truck is 5 months old. Is it possible that engines manufactured with "out of spec" crank rotors were still being installed in '17s at that time? Or is something else wrong here...

Well I was able to take it to the dealer yesterday, today they tell me it was a software issue and they are testing it now and it seems to be fine. I told them to check it thoroughly since obviously I wouldn't want this happen again. I feel like just flashing the soft ware and not changing any parts does not take care of the problem in a definite manner.

That seems like classic CPS Symptoms, you might wanna shell out $90 and swap it yourself for peace of mind.

I am considering it and once the recall comes if it does, get reimbursed.

I sincerely hope that fixes it for your sake, but I'd remain highly skeptical. I would mention to them the number of reported cases of the Crank Shaft Positioning (CPS) sensor going bad. If they're trying to fool a faulty sensor in to working again for the time being you could potentially be damaging various hardware components of the truck. We've had a user that had to have his Catalytic converters replaced due to this error. He had very similar symptoms.

I believe more than 1 guy on here had converter failures due to the CPS. If memory serves me 1 guy on here got to Lemon his truck or the dealer bought it as the converters failed several times before they bothered swapping the CPS.

Wouldn't the low oil press and charging error occur because the truck shut down?

You are absolutely right. If it's an issue that can recur and there's a bulletin on it (according to the dealer), they should just change the part.
