Does anyone think Toyota would void my "included" lifetime drivetrain warranty if I went ahead with the ecgs bushing:anonymous:. That is what is also holding me from lifting it.

To be fair I have not, and won't be, lifting. But since I've done full changes on other vehicles, I'd do it on a Tacoma. No struts, not particularly complex.

If you've not done such before, it is good to have a successful seasoned person at your side, at least to coach.

Do it yourself then you can save the labor cost, move up to a 3" lift and get the UCA's.

New UCA's if under 3" you don't have to add ...but I guess you don't have to do a lot of things ???
Get the UCA's you'll be happy you did :).

I thought we were saving the monies from self install so we could add another inch to be able to buy the UCA's you will.

Yes , and if your going with bigger wheels the UCAs will help with the alignment.

    3" vertical ascension.....wheels.....tires......stuff
I paid $1000 for the QuikLift-installed with an alignment. Still running the stock UCA's, no tire wear probs or pulling. I've only gone up to 265/75/16's as I got a deal on the Toyo's.....$83/tire after it was all said and done. My Dakar's I installed, 3 hours with the proper place and tools.

I was going to get some help from TW members in Austin when installing mine, but I decided to just tackle it myself since I have another taco for my daily driver. I literally have never wrenched on my truck prior to this, but I must say there's really not much to it if you have the right tools and do your research ahead of time. I replaced my coil assemblies and UCAs. Started out slow, but by the time I got to the other side it was moving along pretty quickly. All I paid for was the parts and 87.50 to get an alignment! If youre hesitant about tackling a job like this but you're somewhat mechanically inclined and have another daily driver, I say go for it. The money you save and the experience you gain from doing it are definitely worth the effort.
