that's what I was picturing, definitely no openings on the ends to lead the water away, I probably could have dug down further while cleaning it out which may have revealed some sort of drainage but who knows haha maybe when it dries up I will stick something into the mud and see how deep it really goes. Part of me wants to fix it and the other part or me feels like its not my responsibility hahaha if it was my own home/garage I would be out there right now with a shop vac and have a little bilge pump running haha

hmmm there were little slots near the top that were still full of mud, maybe half an inch wide by 3'' long. I thought they were just some type of handle to help lift the trough out but I may investigate with a screw driver, also I will poke into the mud to get a depth analysis of the trough. I was just picturing a round hole attached to a pipe/weeping tile type system.

On a completely unrelated topic. I saw this video at training today. They used it to illustrate the need to apply Combat Application Tournequets quickly after being wounded due to how quickly blood lose can occur. Thought I would share and encourage any of you that do any type of hunting/recreational shooting to invest in a CAT and carry it with you in your pack or shooting bag. It could save your life should an accident occur. They aren't just for military/police.

WARNING: Extremely graphic and explicit language!

    Yep.

Here is the full background if you want the details on what lead up to the video.

    https://www.policeone.com/officer-s...-19-times-apply-tourniquets-to-stop-bleeding/

The best part is when they are running from the car, the dude blindly fires over his shoulder and actually shoots his cohort, instead of the officers giving chase.

The guy survived because of the officers quick action to control the femoral bleed.

For a temp fix you can place a 3 inch piece of rubber flashing along the outside of the garage door. It will channel the water away and you will still be able to pull in and out of the garage with no issues.

the issue is that the lane way is on a major down cline? (is that a term?) towards the garage door, so there is no where to channel the water too which wont end up in the garage haha I don't even pull into the garage with anything other then the push mower. ill investigate the drain further once it dries up haha but thanks for the advice

Yes, that would be the flaw in my solution is water has nowhere to be directed. Compounded by the steepness of the decline.

That's awesome! Also I totally thought that was you until I read your edit. That's one bad ass looking dude!
I plan on getting a full on professional first aid kit since my wife would be able to utilize the more advanced things, and it'll definitely include a tourniquet. People seem to think that using a tourniquet immediately means that's limb will be lost, but that's not the case at all. Thanks for sharing.

So today we took the boat out to the lake, but there are so many forest fires around (16!) that it was so smoky and messed with our eyes and lungs. Turned around and just headed home.

Hung out drinking beers on the back patio, and then decided to take the kayaks out. A 5 minute drive up the road, and it takes us 2.5 hours to float down since it's so damn windy. It was a hell of a lot of fun!! I had a little too much fun, and ended up flipping my kayak in the cold water. After I got over the initial shock I managed to swim to shore and bring the kayak with me. Took a couple minutes to drain all the water out and was back in business. Worst part is I lost my beer!!

Check out chinook medical, they have some serious adventure kits. You can buy full or piece together. They have everything from basic first aid to chest tubes and cric trays for spec ops medics.

I have a first responders kit I was given at my old job in California to have on site. Its almost like a mini surgical room in that thing. Stuff I have no clue what it even is/does.
