Maybe the hound will step into that role. It'd be an ironic twist of fate... A completely faithless man who's scared of fire becoming a cleric to the fire god. The only reason I raise that possibility is because he accurately read the flames of where the walked army would be, and he's made huge strides as a human being in general since brienne whooped him.

 

I heard the same things about the actor who played joffrey. That's the mark of a really talented actor/actress. They can make you love them or hate them completely depending on the role.

 

I think he always had in him to be a kind, forthright, knightly kind of man. It was his brother's treatment of him growing up that twisted him, especially since his face was burned. You can see (especially in the books) where he struggled with his own self-worth, but would immediately do the kind and right thing when he could get away it (like protecting Sansa on multiple occasions in Kings Landing).

Since he was freed from everything that repressed or subjugated him, he's been an extremely interesting and enjoyable character. Rory McCann perfectly plays all those subtle yet noticeable nuances.

I hear ya, but he also had some weird fixation with Sansa. I never got the impression that he wanted to fuck her, but then he went to her room, got drunk, poured out his guts to her and forced a kiss on her before he fled Kings Landing. Maybe you're right about the inner struggle with self worth. He's always presented himself as a big bad killer, but maybe he's always been a lost little boy beneath all that. I know I've always secretly rooted for the character though... especially since his change of heart.

Well, buddy on FB posted a link to the leaked episode 7. Girlfriend decided to read it and apparently thought she should tell me.

Time for a new fucking girlfriend.

 

My wife tried to tell me what happens in the season finale. I said nope, don't want to know. I'd rather watch it and see for myself what happens.

 

Apparently now a script from next season has been leaked also.

 

I didn't have the chance to tell her. She text me all the important shit.

Now I know why people murder their significant other.

 

Was anyone else surprised to see benjen return as a living breathing person? In the books I always had a theory that "cold hands" was actually benjen.

 

He came back last season ( or before that) to help Bran. We knew he was still out there. Nobody dies off camera in GOT...except for the blackfish

 

From the books and stuff I always felt like Benjen was somehow to show up and play a little bit bigger part or at least get a chance to talk to him and see what the hell he's been doing. Didn't really like the way he went out. But I was surprised he seemed living I expected him to be half white walker or something still holding onto his sanity and memories and had a purpose or was working towards something.

 

Don't forget that he also helped Sam and Gilly get through to the wall too. It was in the books, but I can't remember if it was also in the show.

 

Damnit! I must have been drunk that episode. I forgot about that.

Stannis too. I didn't believe he was really dead until this season started because they only showed brienne swing the sword, never showed his body.

 

I don't think that made the show...

That's right. I forgot about Stannis going out like that. That was a little different bc you knew Brienne was going to kill him. Some rando just said Blackfish was dead and were all supposed to believe him?

 

They didn't show Syrio Forel die either.
