With you! Had some effect here in Redmond (WA) and looked through some glass a kid down the street. It was cooler than I thought but with work and all -- for 2024 it's a trip I will make....:)

From just outside of Nashville, TN. Taken with a Nikon D3300, 220mm telephoto, basic UV filter (solar filters were hard to come by). Pretty happy with the results given my consumer-grade tech ;)

Back in town now, our trip to Wyoming went really smoothly. We headed to Lander, stopped off in the mountains above town up near South Pass to camp. Drove a bit north of Lander to get into totality. Traffic was absolutely just NOT an issue! We had a bit of traffic from Lander to Farson on the way home, but took all the back roads and had no trouble whatsoever. Definitely worth the trip and my daughter was really excited to experience it. On the way up, at Farson, we stopped to top off the tank. If you've never been through Farson, this is just a junction really, one tiny gas station and a post office. But they were definitely having a booming business day, but even at that there were only about four or five cars deep at the pumps.

My daughter all ready for totality.

Had a blast! Drove up from CO to WY on saturday morning, to Dubois and then up Union Pass Road, to Flat Lake below Union Peak. Backpacked through lakes in the area til Monday (only saw a handful of fishermen most of the time), and saw the eclipse from just below Union Peak. Spent another night camped in the Shoshone National Forest, then drove home via Grand Teton National Park. Not a bit of traffic to be seen.

We went to Casper as planned and the experience of totality is absolutely amazing. It's not just 1% more than 99%, it's an entirely different thing.

Some people who headed back to CO immediately after totality made it okay, but for others who stayed for the rest of the eclipse they spent hours upon hours in traffic. We waited too but had paper maps and bombed along some deserted BLM roads and made great time while having fun.

Didnt take the Taco as the FJ is more fun offroad and nicer ride. We ended up in Eastern Oregon, camped in a ranchers pasture with some other folks. Traffic was nuts and we ended up goin back home to Ca thru Idaho and still made it to Reno before my friends that left at same time/place but drove the straight route to Reno, 300 miles shorter. Got snowed on in Ca too.
