Pish posh. Still 100 and swampy humid...and then we finally get the rain we've been desperately needing and it's going to be a hurricane. @greeneggsnspam is going to have to put a snorkel on his house.

 

They're calling for 25+ in some areas.

 

Hurricanes always cool it off though so there's that.

 

During the storm and then a day after that, the mosquitoes and humidity come out to play.

We're trying to figure out now if we should buy groceries for the week, or just buy food that won't perish for a week. They're unsure if it's going to land as a TS or Cat 1. My money is on a TS.

 

They're showing tracks up here that, no matter where it hits, all of the rivers are going to flood the lower 100 miles or so. That high pressure area west of us is going to make the storm stall in place, suck up gulf moisture, and dump it from the hill country to Houston.

Dude.

You need to go "visit" Fredericksburg and other high ground for a while.

But all my beer and BBQ is here.

I know it can get pretty bad south of where I live, so if I have to get out, I can just go north. This is just a few miles south of me




But I know we have a pretty awesome community around us that'll look out for eachother. So for now, we're gonna stay. Plus, my fiancee starts her 10 days of work today. So I want to make sure she can get back safely. But if there's too much rain, they'll enact flood measures and shut down the med center.

I'm still hell bent on kayaking to the bars.
