We sleapt under the stars out on some backroad near Ely, Nevada last night on the way home. Found a sweet spot under the junipers to crash for the night. My new ARE top is doing really well and kept road dust off all my gear! :)

    Of course that counts!

    Pro tip: Stand your tripod on the solid ground and not your vehicle. Even though Ansel Adams would do what you did on occasion, you'll get a sharper image the more stable your camera is. (I'm sure your shutter speed was pretty fast shooting directly at the sun, but it's still good practice.) How'd the shots turn out?

    The film hasn't come back yet. My two boys took my truck for the weekend and did the eclipse chasing. I wasn't there.

    But you have to admit the tripod on the tool box makes for a really neat shot.
