True my mods happen monthly at this point if they even do. But I got no regrets now atleast.

Yeah, already got the new head unit, remote start/alarm, spod, and floormats. Still looking at seat covers, working on CB setup, MOLLE panel should be on the way, and i need to find some new speakers. Also just found the guy that makes the smaller panels that attach to the center console.

yea that's crazy.... and yea I was thinking about our convo... but wasnt sure that I had the right thing... I remember you said it was a lot cheaper.

yea I have the head unit already.. I want to get the backup cam wired into the head unit and off the rear view mirror..... I have the expensive part of the CB.... the actual CB. haha.... now I just have to order the antenna and coax cable and spring.

If I ever do seat covers, they will likely be wet okole... eventually I want to do a small sub and some new speakers as well

i thought about that at first, but then i realized i wanted a front camera to feed to the head unit, which might also mean i can have another input for a second rear camera.

oh I've seen them.... I've actually been to their store in Honolulu... that's where I was like "wow. these are amazing."

but I still want to check them out in a Tacoma

a front camera would be cool for sure....

@ilubtimmyhos and I have already looked into putting the stock rear view camera in the head unit... I just needed to buy the wire... which reminds me.... Adam... I have the wire. haha

I heard from the freight delivery company today, and my bumper will be delivered on Friday. :yay: Now I'm just waiting for tracking info from Baja Kits. I was told they were shipping today, so we'll see. It's only 3:30 in Cali, so the day isn't over yet. Should also be getting tracking for the rear setup tonight or tomorrow, hopefully. :bananadance:

I will start emailing around for quotes once we swap parts and its back to stock(ish). I feel like i will likely have to order what i want, as nobody seems to have it. I will play dealers against each other to get the best price otd, and i also have costco pricing to factor in. Plus for warranty, i was on the phone with geico getting a rough estimate of how much itll be to insure, and they said they offer a 7yr/100k bumper to bumper warranty for dirt cheap. So i have that as ammo when they start their warranty bs talk. I wont walk into a dealership until i have several quotes in writing. I will likely finance through my credit union, unless subaru has any special financings in the next month my fcu will beat them hands down. Every penny saved will help.

I was doing some rough calcs and to date i have spent just shy of 22k (im sure i forgot some stuff) on parts and labor getting this house back in shape after the renters trashed it. I still need to swap the water heater, it keeps popping the red button on the unit itself. Not sure why. The breaker never pops though.

Sounds like you have a good plan worked out. I wasn't nearly as meticulous when I bought mine. Still happy with the deal I worked out though. I bought mine at Wes Greenway Subaru in Waldorf, MD.

Those renters must have really fucked up the place to need 22k in repairs. I know labor costs will drive the cost up fast, but that's still a hefty chunk. Are you able to go after the renters for any of the bill beyond their security deposit?

youre referring to their MBI (Mechanical Breakdown Insurance) to which I assisted in creating the underwriting system... just a word of caution about MBI:

it's only available for the first 12 months or 15,000 miles that you buy your car.... and it locks you in to Geico as your insurer. if you leave (for a lower rate, or whatever reason) you lose it.if you come back... you cannot get MBI again.once it's gone, it's gone. I, personally, would stick w/ Subaru's warranty unless youre comfortable w/ staying w/ Geico for SURE for the next 7 years.

that being said, if youre comfortable staying w/ them, it's a great coverage.

Nah, the hell with em. I dont have the strength to try to battle them at this point. I thought about it though.

Interesting, thanks. They told me the warranty was bumper to bumper. I get a great rate with them, but dont want to lock myself into anything. I will definitely ask around for quotes on the warranty from subaru knowing the margin they get on that stuff.
