Normally I would agree but the exact same engine in the camry puts out 20 more hp.

Also OV found some shitty maps that caused a misfire all the time. The 3.5 has 16 maps that it uses to "learn" the driving habits with. Some of those maps were less that refined. Some were fine. Keep in mind that Toyota is currently on revision number 3 on the ecu tune for the 3rd gen

Not always, there have been a lot of things I have not won...

Just don't forget to research gearing with a rear elocker rear end off a 2014 Tacoma....

I think people are interested in the tune for reasons outside of tire size tho? The ecm was programmed with efficiency mind only.
Are you 100% on that Toyota is doing another ecm revision? And seriously, this engine is in the camry? That doesn't sound right.

Because a 4 door sedan doesn't need as much low end torque as a pickup does. I think you forgot that you bought a midsize truck, not a sports car or a semi. The engine is built according to the intended use of the majority of the customers, if it doesn't meet your needs it would make more sense to buy something that does.

And Toyota gets to pull data from the ECU of every 3.5 Tacoma that comes into their dealers for service. That's several hundred thousand data points.

A 17 year old sedan with a 2.2L inline 4 cylinder, 176k miles and a cobbled together front end is a poor candidate for new gears. LS swap or nothing.

Dont mistake me for that power hungry guy. I just wanted a more predictable gas pedal. This first round tune was only 5 hp. It did get 20ftlb more torque but the big gain was in the throttle control. I'm happy with the power it has but the tune gives it a refined feel, more consistant. I hear good things about the 4.0 wish I had one before but this is my first taco.

I don't care about the Camry anymore... I just subscribed to a third gen build.

What has my forum life come to.

Weather is still looking good in Gilmer for that weekend. Mid 80's in the day and upper 60's at night. Are you going to camp Saturday night?

    That would be the one.

I think I am going to have go live on facebook or instagram one day/night when at windrock...

If I wasn't going to TN I would be at Barnwell though!

Ah good old times of LS swaps. Well, mostly the building and abandoning aspect of it. I may be stupid again and do another one.

Cool, what CB did you get?

I figure after the weekend I'll get a head count and we can pin down a time to meet up. Takes about an hour and a half to get there from Buc-ees in Terrell so I'm thinking we meet there around 7am.

It's a Midland that can be handheld with the rubber ducky or attach the power /antenna module and ditch the battery packs. Model 75-822.
