Just throwin' this out there; May be going to RRG Saturday (Small group...so far 3, maybe 4) Contact me if interested. Meet @ Slade Saturday morning around 9-ish...

Staying on relatively easy trails....Object is to cover distance over time. Small group...keep moving. (Same trail we were on Saturday of RRG2 for those who went) Only one real tough spot and that should be easier when it's dry and if everyone takes the easier line.

May be a new Jeep Liberty along for the ride.

There is a Jeep club going through there that day also. (21 signed up) Should be interesting to watch them as well.

Well didn't have time to take my belt off last night either before it started getting dark. Didn't make the noise at all when I left Autozone to buy a belt, didn't make it when I restarted it at home, and didn't make it this morning when leaving. As I was getting off the interstate I could barely hear it starting up again so I turned my wheel and it seemed to increase. Hoping its not my power steering pump going out and just the belt or a bearing on the pulley. Hopefully I can get a chance to pull the skid off and inspect the belt and everything this evening before dark. :annoyed::annoyed:

The belt and tensioner pulley are where I'd start first.

Hoping, for your sake, it isn't power steering!

My clutch master cylinder has shit the bed. I went ahead and ordered a new master and slave from Camelback Toyota on here. $125 shipped, not bad at all. Toyota South quoted me $500 to do everything. Can't wait to tear into that project on Monday... Not.

Its not too bad of a job. You will need flare wrenches and someone to help you bleed the system afterwards.

It's sad really. I see a lot of mild to wild modified Toyota 4x4's around me, and none are on here to my knowledge

The bleeding is the only part that I dread. The wife isn't too good at following directions. I've considered going ahead and getting one of the bleeding tools but it's a mixed bag as far as reviews go. I'm going to open up the bleeder on the space cylinder and let it gravity feed for a while and then see what happens. Supposedly if the adjustment rod on the master isn't so so it can be a pain as well.

That's a pulley rattle, not a sneaky belt issue. Loosen the torsioner, pull the belt, spin every pulley and you'll find the offender...id even wager the one you focus on around the 14-15s mark...looks to have a bit of play.

Oh, bit of a disclaimer here...im a computer geek by trade, so...might wanna get a second opinion over mine.

Also, that's not a power steering whine either...unless the pulley on the PS pump has shit the bed

    Good luck, keep us posted

It was a belt wine at first that started. Sorta a squeal, turned into a knock after it dried out. Think I've located the idle pulley that's loose.

Idle pulley is cheapest of all possibilities :fingerscrossed:
