So a lot of us Canadians & Northern US folks have dedicated winter tires with black steel rims. Myself I use skinnier tires for the snow & ice. I'll even upsize to a taller tire, to have more ground clearance for those 1-2 foot snow storms.

    What are you rockin'????

I went to a winter tire last year, huge difference in traction over an AT tire, I have the Bridgestone DMV2. I really like them, I have read some people complain about them but I thought they worked great. Driving over the Coquihalla hwy and frequent trips up to Sun Peaks in bad weather. I put them on my stock rims.
Save my SCS rims for the summer

Oh yeah! I love peeling away from an Intersection (when the light turns green), looking back at people slip sliding away. :luvya:

3rd week in August and we are talking about snow tires. This has been one of the longest, hottest summers in memory, but I guess it will end too. Hancook iPike studded snow tires on my truck. Amazing grip compared to All terrains. Equally as good in thawing conditions with standing water atop snow and ice ruts. Mounted on stock alloys. TRD Pro wheels the rest of the year.

What do you do when the tire still looks new, but the studs are quite worn? I think I have 1-2 seasons left as is.
