Yup - I've heard it's quite common (unfortunately) for these to be cut off trucks out west.

I did a test fit today under the bars and I think it would work if you ditched the mounts and bolted it there. I have the factory roof rack on the cab and it was a tight squeeze, and that's with 66" cross bars.

Oh, it did still interfere with my door though, unless you mount it further towards the bars or further back. A 6' bed would be ideal to get your bar spacing perfect and still have enough room to open the caps door. #doublecabregrets

Thanks TJ - I need to convince a buddy to buy one so I can see if it would work on my rack.

My current system works pretty well, don't want it to sound like I'm bitching. I've got a cargo net mounted on my cap roof, with 4 rows of plastic hooks hanging with a loop of Paracord hanging from each hook. All I do is break my rods down into 2 pieces and reel up the slack (with flie(s) still on), then slide them through the Paracord loops. With 4 loops the rods hang flat.

The rod vault would make things a wee bit quicker & more convenient. Just need to make sure it'll fit to my rack.

Tried a new area today - Eagle Creek. The water was low but fished it anyway. Tons of bites from very small fish. The only thing I landed was a giant rock to the windshield.

The same shit everyone else has.
    Stocked rock or wild?

Thoughts on wading boots? My Orvis Access boots are at the point where I have to glue them before each trip or 2 now. The soles are shot to the point where studs no longer stay in place. And the toes are blown out, they are all silicon. They are over a year and a half old and probably have 150+ days on them and atleast 600 miles. I feel like I got my moneys worth out of them - less than 2$ per outing.

I do a lot of hiking, so they need to be light and have good ankle support. Vibram rubber stud-able soles are a must. The Orvis boots fit this criteria pretty well and I feel like they are worth the money. The Simm's Headwater boots seem to be comparable, but Ive had less than stellar experience with Simm's stuff. (My 500$ G3s leave a bit to be desired) Id like to stay around 175$. Not sure if I should stick with somehting I know I like and works or try something new. (The obvious answer is another pair of Orvis boots)

What kinda wading boots do you guys use? How are they holding up? How many days/miles?

Love my Korker Buckskins (lace up). Best part is the interchangeable soles. They're only a couple years old, so not a ton of use, but so far so good. I know some guys that have Krokers and use them heavily on trips out West.

I know its Patagonia but my ultra light sticky wading boots have been champs. I go fishing maybe 75-100 Days a year and trek hundreds of miles in them from AR, MO, and TN streams. I have the older models you may still be able to find them on some fly fishing shops websites. Super Light and comfy also composite toe incase you slam your does into a stump or something... I do that on occasion not paying attention to where I am walking. 10/10 would recommend. Boots are going on 4 years and still look the same no wear or tear on them.

I'm not opposed to any brands. I'll have to look into the Patagucci's.

    Some really cool shit
I never had much luck with Pataguccii. Boots fell apart after a year, and I didn't get out that often, either. Simms have been great for me. I do have some Pataguccii Flats Boots that have held up. Guess it's just hit or miss.

I've had pretty decent luck with my Simms. I probably fished over 150 days the first year I had them, then it's probably been closer to 80-100 days the last couple years. They just started coming apart a month or two ago.

I just go to goodwill and find me work boots 3 sizes bigger...and I can attach whatever traction enhancer I want.

I bought new boots a few months ago. Had Korkers for years until they finally fell apart this Spring. Tried the new Korkers, Patagonia and Simms and landed on a pair of Simms based on the comfort.

I found the Patagonia boots very wide which made by foot feel sloppy in them. I really did want to like them as I have Patagonia waders and jackets, but they just didn't fit my foot right. I would go to a few shops and just try every pair on you can until you find the right fit.
