05-11 Tacoma OE Headlights

Factory set of Headlights for an 05-11 Tacoma. Been sitting in my storage unit for a while and just sold the truck.

Great for a project!

No bulbs.
Drivers headlight bulb holder tab is broken off

On the back of the left headlight, is the tab for the metal piece which holds the bulb in broken?

You are correct for the headlight tab. It is broken for the drivers side

With a proper hid retrofit (theretrofitsource) you take apart the headlight and grind off the portion that holds a factory bulb to install the projector for the hid bulb.

 

So no installing the OEM bulb on this? it would have to be something else.

 

Im not sure how an OEM bulb will stay in there, if the clip is broken

Let me try this again, I am wondering if you can replace the OEM bulb holder alone(just by itself), without having to do HID or grind it down like someone said.

 

Best bet is probably to find another broken headlight. I doubt the dealership, or other vender sell just the clip. Or someone that has done a retrofit.
