No, I did a full rebuild 35,000 miles ago, so bearing is good,
Gadget from URD says to change the oil every 15,000 to 20,000. Now I know why

The GEN III gray unit is a little different but probably easier to remove the snout.
Yes, if you have a grey unit you remove the 8 bolts on the snout and open it up using a socket and a screw driver to pry it open in the the two top inserts, you have to take
the supercharger belt off, move the top radiator hose clamp only, so the timing cover can be pulled back to access the bolts, take 5 of the bolts on the driver side and top side timing cover off and the supercharger belt tensioner off, get a large zip lock bag and wrap it around the snout to catch the oil,
Took me an hour or so(longer if your cleaning the snout and wire brushing the gasket areas and carb cleaning the front of the nose and supercharger gear area) to take off and put back on and have to clean the gasket area to reinstall, make sure there is zero oil residue on the gasket area using carburetor cleaner. I would take the snout to a machine shop and have them put a butt screw in the top, so the next oil change will take you 5 minutes to do, torque the bolts to 20 pounds in this pattern
You DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE THE SUPERCHARGER TO DO AN OIL CHANGE

Does anyone know where you can source the urethane coupler for 4L charged Tacoma? The ZZPerformance links are broken. I've got a call into them to check availability as well.

Great info in this thread. I have just bought a used TRD SC to put onto a 1GR-FE. it has about 60,000 miles on it. While its out of the car I'm thinking I may as well replace all the bearings. I can't find any info on replacing the needle rollers that the end of the impellar shafts run in. Are these easy to change considering where they are?

It's definitely a job to do. Everything has to come apart. If you have a press it will be easier.

I ordered from ZZP. Changed coupler and greased needle bearings yesterday. It all went very smooth and now i can relax about thinking that I'm hearing my rotors scraping the sides of the housing. Everything looked great inside.

Remember there is a correct front and back on the coupler, it goes on only one direction, don't but it on backwards
