My pro comp xtreme MT2 285/70/17 have pretty much worn out and it's a pretty shaky drive and the tires have cupped.I ordered some dick cepek funcountry tires in the same size and pick them up today. My plan is to go and have them mounted and get an alignment. One of the shops asked if I wanted them road forced balanced. I've read up ia little bit on the issue and am not too sure if I should do it.
Americas tires wants 170 to mount 5 tires and road force balance. If I do the regular way it's 17 bucks a tire.

I would let them do a standard mount/balance and only if there is a balance issue down the road then do the roadforce

I read up on it too. What they say sounds good, but is it worth the extra $$$ ??

I have always thought that you get a better ride with road force balancing, there is a reason it is on the market, especially with 285/70's I would think it would be very beneficial for such an oversized tire!

Its really only necessary on some tires, not all. I've only had 1 set of tires that needed road force balancing, and it turned out there was 1 defective tire causing the issues. All my others (6+ sets of 35" tires) have had a standard balance job and been fine

Try the standard balancing first. Once you rf balance them you'll have to do it every time. I paid $100 to have it done once and they need it again. K bro 2's
