Ive got a KLR650. No EFI, and no frills, but its comfortable and reliable. For many years I rode sport tourers, an old style concourse with an inline 4 and then an 1150RT beemer. Power abs, efi, and farkles on the beemer we nice but it was a pain to work on (bleeding the servo controlled linked abs took all afternoon) and tires were expensive. It was also like riding a wood burning stove in traffic. The only thing I would trade the KLR for now is a 1200GS. But they are about 3x the cost, so.....

Those are a little too far over on the street side for me. And I'm scared of British bikes. Buddy had a Rocket3 that sat in his garage most of the time "waiting on parts to come". Worse than BMW. Japanese stuff is always a click away on Amazon or ebay....

and I forgot - The honda CRF1000L is also a pretty solid dual sport option.

The local shop has a 2016 KTM 390 duke they have listed for $4100 I'm thinking about checking it out then pulling the trigger.

It would be a good, cheap (relatively) commuter. Good mileage and I won't be able to get in too much trouble. I don't want a rocketship

They are supposedly bringing over a 390 adventure to compete with the versys 300 and bmw 310gs or whatever it's called.

I had my DRZ for a little over a year, in which time I only had a permit because I was going to take the riding test in the winter when there wasn't a risk of them cancelling the test because of the heat. I never did it before I sold my bike so I've gotta go get my permit again.. Whoops

I want to take the advanced class with my Z125. That would be fun.

Mine was 3300 out the door. $0 down, $75/year for insurance, $60 per month. Its the most slow speed fun ive had! Im actually surprised ive had it this long! I may keep it through winter, and sell in the spring. Im going to try to ride every day that it doesnt rain. Also, a set of knobby tires is $100 shipped. Cant beat that.

I still want that Harley. Im getting my FZ09 tank repainted this winter. Then ill see about trading it in.

I'm looking at a 2017 KTM 390 Duke. $5200 sticker price. Going to need a helmet, gloves, boots and a jacket again....

I've never financed anything so we'll see if I even get approved. I've got a decent credit score but not a long history. Might just get a high interest rate and refinance in a few months.

You should be ok. Ive only ever financed 3 things. The Z125, the FZ09, and my first real car. Everything else was paid for in cash. Just saved and moved up the ladder
