I work in southern Utah at the Toyota Dealership and I cannot tell you how many vehicles I pull into the service bay with guns holstered here or there. It definitely never worried me, just reminds me of my good ole Texas raising.

Different standards and expectations depending on where you live.

Well duh. Got a truck gun. A range gun that lives in the truck. And a carry gun that may or may not be on my person or in the truck:D:rofl:

I haven't posted anything on this forum for quite some time but just wanted to say this.

Considering that it is a felony to enter a post office (or any federal building) with a firearm it's not irresponsible to leave your firearm in your car before going into the post office. The only options are to follow the law and risk losing your weapon to theft or risk becoming a felon by taking it with you. The government is to blame for this lose-lose situation by making ridiculous laws.

Probably why a center console lockbox is not a bad idea for those situations. If the thief manages to get into that between the time you parked your truck and come back out of the federal building/whatever, then you did your best.

Agreed. I keep meaning to do something like that but I rarely go anywhere that doesn't allow carrying and on the rare occasion I do I just leave it at home or if I have someone with me I have them stay and watch it if it's a quick stop.

Sorry, you can whine all you want about the fact that you are prohibited from carrying your gun where ever you want, but it is still the owners responsibility to insure the safety of the firearm. If you are too much of a pussy to ride in your truck without a gun then do the right thing and buy a console vault, or some other type of security device so you can leave it safely when "ridiculous" laws apply

If this is the case, that's reason #16 that I'm glad I just have a regular 'ole key and door remote.

I'm not sure how you took my post as whining. You said that Marshall R was irresponsible for leaving his gun in his truck. I was just pointing out how that isn't the case since that was what he had to do in order to stay within the law.

Ah the classic you're a pussy if you carry a gun. Because not wanting to fist fight someone bigger than you over their rage issues on the side of the road makes you a pussy. So a 110 pound girl should go up against a 275 pound man, because otherwise she would be a pussy, right?

congrats you've single handed derailed this thread into thief awareness into this huge gun/gun law calling out people that are exercising their 2a right calling them a pussy. Bet you're real fun at parties. I do Agree that ultimately its the owners responsibility for that firearm but everyone is different and not all gun owners think the same. And you will never change that no matter how black and blue to the face you get from arguing.
