I recently bought a 2011 taco and the left 12v outlet is an aux passthrough and the right one doesn't work very well. Does anyone have a wiring diagram of where I can troubleshoot the right plug/ replace both? Is there a guide on how to get behind where the cigarette lighter outlets are? There is a jumble of wiring back behind the left one but I can't pull any through.

The lighter sockets on my 06 are locked in using a sleeve with tabs that catch the socket. The wiring needs to be unplugged before they can be removed; which means removal of the lower dash panel.

K, I have the dbl cab and have replaced the lower dash panel with one that has switch cut outs for my heated seat controls. Here is what I had to do.
Remove the console by removing 2 bolts under the rug in the arm rest. Unscrew the shift knob and lift up the plastic trim around the shifter. There are two screws under that trim ring that secure the front of the armrest to the front half of the console. 2 more screws/bolts, I don't remember which and then the front half of the console can be pulled back away from the dash and lifted out. Remove the little cubby pocket on the right side of the steering wheel and behind it on the right side will be a bolt securing the lower dash panel. There's one more bolt on the passenger side that was hidden by the console.A/c controls and radio need to come out. The trim around the gauge cluster needs to be pulled out a bit on the right side. You may or may not need to remove a bolt securing the trim under the steering wheel this bolt is behind a cover under the cubby on the right side of the steering wheel.

It sounds complicated, but it only took me about 30 minutes to have the lower dash panel in my hands...
