There arent many better prices than 1.9% to borrow money....

It really depends on your income and any future spending. I'd kill for a $230 truck payment, mine's currently $460 and over the next couple years I'll be paying about $600 to get my truck either paid off or mostly paid off before my Student Loans come due...

Unless you absolutely have to cut the $230 from your budget, I'd keep the truck.

Well, to wrap this up, found a 2nd job for $60 - $90 extra per week, not a lot but it’ll be better than nothing. Decided to keep the truck, I took it to 2 dealers and I could have traded it for $14,000 and gotten something decent with less miles and a less expensive payment per month but I don’t think it’d be worth it in the long run.

Thank you for those who gave thoughtful, helpful answers. For blockhead above, you work 7 days a week? No days off ever? If not, yes, you sounded like a jerk.

For the rest of you 2nd gen owners, be happy your rucks are worth so much. My 09 with 115000 can get 14,000 from a dealer! Looking at online listings I couldn’t find any for less than $16,000 for equivalent miles and options. Insane, how did this happen? Is it because of the turd-gens?

Yes. When i shopped last year, 14 and 15 2nd gens were more money than equally furnished 3rd gens at my local dealership

Haha glad you got off your butt and got things going in the right direction...j/k

And no I don't work 7 days a week, don't have to, but I would if I needed to instead of complaining on a forum...

I'm 55 yrs old and worked two jobs for a three year stretch because I wanted some things that I couldn't afford and didn't want to borrow money to get them...it's all good, glad you got to keep your truck.

I think its a great thing we live in a world where the opinions of others can be had very easily. Sometimes helps us to make sure we are considering all factors.

He wasn't complaining, he was reaching out for advice.

I guess I used the wrong phrase 'complaining on a forum' and for that I apologize.

I guess I should've just given a simple answer to the OP's original question and been done with it.

My answer to his question is yes it's a stupid idea.
