I have a 2017 taco. My problem is: I have a basic flip cell phone. I can pair it with the entune phone app no problem. Then I turn off the truck, lock it and walk away. The next time I turn on the truck, the phone pairs automatically. I go to the entune phone app and it is saying "dialing... private call" I can't force it out of this mode. I can't get to the call history, can't get the dIaling number pad, and when I try to use the voice command on the steering wheel, it just beeps. Anybody have any ideas on how to get outta this mess?

His phone isn't a smartphone and it's trying to connect to a smart device. They aren't compatible with one another

what do you need to use the phone app for? I just set my 4 main contacts on the home screen and directly dial from there. I don't actually open the phone app. perhaps you can do that same and "bypass" the app.

Modified the level of gas in the tank
    He's likely correct...bluetooth ain't always compatible, even when it's bluetooth. BTv1 vs BTv2 vs BTv3 for example.

Also there is the semantics that the head unit expects may not delivered by the legacy phone.

Easiest solution, get a modern phone
