I am new to this, I have had my 06' Tacoma for about three years, now starting to have some normal wear and tear on everything. I need shocks for sure they are ruining my tires bad.....does any one suggest any, or a certain type? I'm completely lost at where to start....

    Welcome to the forum

Would you like to stay at stock ride height, level your truck or lift it?

    Thanks!!!

At the moment, I would like to stay at the stock height, I have a Pre-Runner if that makes a difference. I would eventually like to lift it.

Could always go to the for sale section and get the stock part replaced, i am sure there are members that have that stuff laying around. Go with a bilstein 5100 and keep setting at 0 and you'll be happy

From your profile picture (and the bio saying TRD) yours is a 6-lug so it's actually built on the same platform as the 4x4 tacomas.
If you want stock replacements, I'd go with a set of Bilstein Heavy Duty (4600 series) they're a perfect stock replacement. You could also go with the Bilstein 5100s which are made to level/lift the truck. They're ride height adjustable with different clip settings. 0", .85", 1.75" and 2.5" height settings. You could go with those set at 0" of lift for stock height. You could even have them set at .85" or 1.75" and level out your truck to knock out the replacement and the lift all in one.

    Great color choice btw

    Oh yeah good call!

If you can get a set of stock 3rd gen take offs they yield 1" of lift on the 2nd gen tacomas
