Hey all, thanks for letting me stalk the site in the background. Great community.

Always wanted a Taco and found an 06 TRD off road SR5 6cyl 6spd 4x4 with 146k miles for $14k.

The caveat, hail damage. No qualms about replacing the hood and the rest I don't really care about. Clean title.

I know what I know about the trucks, but is this a good deal? Good idea?

    Hoping for good news.

    Thanks all

I don't think that's a bad deal. Paintless dent repair FTW

I personally would have someone evaluate the damage of the hail and make sure that amount is taken off the price.

Hail damage can't always be fixed by PDR (even then it's still very expensive). Some hail damage actually causes underlying paint damage and when the PDR guy is popping the dents, paint can actually start coming up. Make sure you don't have serious paint damage. Fixing that can mean a complete repaint depending on the color and condition of the truck.

I would walk away. How my truck looks matters to me. An owner who didn't care enough to get it resolved likely didn't care about nearly anything else important to the maintenance of the vehicle. If someone says fuck it to hail damage, probably said fuck it to things like trans maintenance, diff and transfer case oil changes, etc
