Hey guys...first post. Take it easy on me.....lol

I looked alot before posting this and didn't find a post as specific as my question.

I like the look of the stock Off Road fender flares and would like them on my 2017 Sport.

I inquired when I bought the truck and the dealer said that it was not offered on the Toyota aftermarket.

I know there are a ton of aftermarket flares but I really like the simple, understated ones on the Off Road. I also like the contrast the black offers.

They seem to bolt onto using the stock fender bolts and no additional holes are required. I could defiantly be wrong as I didn't inspect the ones on the Off Road at the dealer all that great.

Has anyone put the Off Road flares on their Sport ??

    Thanks

Try asking the parts department. They should have the same holes to bolt onto the Truck.
If someone who has a Offroad model gets into a accident the replacement parts will have to come from somewhere.

There the same flares, only difference is the offroads don't get color matched to the truck like sports, there just black plastic.

go to parts like stated above and just order a set for an OR model. Or call someplace like Sparks Toyota. thats who I bought my TRD Pro grill ad TRD Pro skid plate from.

It would be easy and easily reversible.

I swapped my flares and it really wasn't a big deal. I did the opposite, I wanted the matching flares for my silver OR.
Anyway, I found someone wanting to trade the factory flares and we did the swap in just a little time. Just take your time undoing the very front clips that are part of the front flares. You will also probably break a few of the tabs/clips along the fenders and bed side. You can get these for next to nothing at O'rileys and the new ones just snap back onto the truck.

PM me if you have any questions. Take your time and maybe look it up on YouTube....it wasn't that bad, you just can't be careless.

    Good luck!!!

Thats what I did. Turned out nice. Cheap and reversible. I haven't read the entire thread yet so it's prob already been mentioned, there is a flare trading thread in the buy/sell/trade section.

Yes and no. The OR/Pro flares are different part numbers than painted flares you find on the other trims. Painted versions come as a smoother/shinier black plastic and require painting as well as prep (due to surface imperfections. They are cheaper since they do not have to look as good). OR flares are textured.

    Sport (& other painted)

    75872-04900 (LF)
    75873-04900 (RR)

Although, dimensionally speaking they are the same.

Do most body shops do wraps like this? Not sure I would find a place around who would do this but love the look.

How much does this cost usually? Fenders, and front lip.

Im not sure of body shops even do wraps. You gotta ask the body shop. I went to a specific shop that vinyl wraps cars. I paid 250 for the 4 flares, hood scoop, and lower bumper piece.

Do you know if they had to remove the flares to wrap them? It looks like there may be enough space to do a clean cut and wrap without having to remove. Just curious as I'm in the same boat and would like to have the flares and chin wrapped, as well as my scoop and roof.

I removed all the pieces myself and dropped it off at the vinyl wrap shop. They wrapped it and I reinstalled them. The guy said he could of done it without removing the pieces but he said its better to remove it so he can roll the vinyl wrap over the edges for a cleaner look. I would recommend removing them. Its really not as hard as it may seem. Literally took me a hour to remove flares. The lower bumper piece was more of a pain in the ass to remove than the flares. And the scoop if you have one is super easy to remove. PM me if you have any questions removing the flares, I can walk you through it. I have a spare set of flares and I can send you pictures behind it so so you can see exactly where the clips are and they they detach so your arent just pulling at it blindly

How has your wrap held up across all parts? I began to wrap mine but am torn between getting black ones or finishing the wrap. Taking them off is for sure the way to do it. You can wrap them on but man its a real pain and the look is nowhere near as clean and built for longevity.
