I have seen a couple of threads that cover this. It looks as though there is an upcoming show where one will be featured (possible A.R.E.) Although if my memory serves me I have also heard that Snugtop will have one out soon. Not sure about Leer, but they shouldn't be far behind the competition...

I'm guessing that's a SnugTop, judging by the front plate. But that's a TCT magazine photo from SEMA. I want to see more pics of that topper!

    +1!

Edit: Found one more photo. Doesn't really show the back that well. It's a super sport, so I'm betting the back will look very similar to the newest dodge/ford supersports (similar tailgate spoiler).

    Hey Guys,

I am in the market. I am considering the Snugtop CB Sport, or Rebel and an ARE... Looks like they are about 1700.00? but the CBS Sport is 2500???

Why soo much more.. Why should I buy Snugtop over ARE?

Snugtop look fulgy in 3rd gen taco. The back look so dam ugly. On my 1st gen, i like ARE. Leer seems to be the best match for the 3rd gen.

havent heard a single good thing about are caps. Both from dealers and from tw members. I ordered a snugtop cab hi because it had the sportsman's package for free. Fishing pole holders on the roof of the shell and reinforcement for a roof top tent.

I'm neutral about my A.R.E. V-series. They definitely seem to lack in quality control, process too many orders for their staffing, or they just don't give a shit. While I'm happy with the function/fit of mine ... the cap itself was put together poorly. Some of the sheet metal screws holding the front window together have fallen out since getting mine. The holes looked to be stripped out during assembly, and I guess the screws were held in by chewing gum or something to pass a visual inspection on delivery.

The black trim has also rubbed some paint off my tailgate, so I'll need to fix that at some point as well. Not concerned about this, as it's just a little bit of sanding to get it right. I'd rather deal with this and have a nice fitting cap, than one with huge gaps to avoid the paint.

I probably wouldn't have noticed the stripped screw issue if my dog hadn't cut his nose on the burrs ... ...
