DON'T USE UNDERCOAT!!! I bought a can of Rustoleum Black and a can of Rustoleum undercoat. The undercoat not only gives it a rough finish, but it does NOT react well with the paint. only a few minutes after I sprayed on the finish, The undercoat began to peel, but still under the paint. Let's just say it looks... well, Rough.

It looks alright from a distance...20170827_170330.jpg

But when you get close you can see the peeling and it's not just on the badge.

I was thinking paint stripper and starting over, this time without undercoat, but if anyone has a better idea I am open to suggestions.

If I just spray Plastidip over it will that work? I think I need to peel the paint somehow and start over.

    Good point...

:facepalm:ummm no. You still need to sand the shit out of it and make it smooth.
But since you had such major issues spraying the bedliner....then I would just use plastidip that way the next fuck up can be easily removed

Why would you use undercoat on a plastic grille?

Its a rust preventer not a primer.

You must use a plastic safe paint stripper.

Also did you let the top coat dry for several hours before painting over?? Paints and primers will chemically react sometimes if not COMPLETELY dry.
