Well, even Amazon can't get everything to you on Prime, and their buying power is the stuff of other world status. Canada eh? Could the delay be customs related?

Like I said I have nothing again the store just like I have nothing against Wal-Mart for being a good place to get bread, milk, and motor oil in a quick pinch but I don't buy TV's or tools from Wal-Mart for the same reason I wouldn't get a differential part installed at a 4WP. Again, that's just my choice based on local experiences, I'm sure some of their shops are better and some are worse.

We don't have a 4 Wheel Parts here in Maui county.

I wanted to order stuff from the Oahu store but they wanted to rape me for shipping. So, I went LOCAL instead of corporate.

That makes sense. At the warehouse, the will call for parts pickup is actually in the back instead of the store front, it is massive...walls of parts stacked. For me, never had an issue with anything not in stock there.

Actually 4WPs buying power isn't great with a company with Fox or Factor 55 compared to most of the specialty shops. For example, I just had a local shop flat out beat 4WP on a Rigid 30" bar because the local shop gets better pricing through their distributor who is even bigger than 4WP or might even supply 4WP. Where 4WP has cheaper prices it's because they own the company that makes that part. 4WP is a company within a company that owns a pile of different brands. On the brands that they have internally they can beat pricing. On brands like Rigid, Fox, Factor 55, etc etc they often aren't the cheapest. 4WP is also notorious for causing a fall off in the brands they own. Google it up if you want to know more.

No, not customs related. As the lady says it was special order. I called about it and she told me they don't stock any on hand in their warehouses in NA.

Here are just a few of the brands under the Transamerica umbrella (4WP parent company):

If you want a Smitty winch, procomp shocks, or G2 differential then yeah 4WP is the place to go. They literally own those companies lol.

They also recently bought Polaris, IE the makers of the RZR.

    ?

I think @Manwithoutaplan's comment was tuned towards people who buy parts and lifts based on a 4WP salesperson, which is completely accurate. Anyone who has been in the 4x4 community should have a pretty good idea of what they want before walking in the door and the ability to realize the BS that is going to be pushed their way by someone trying to secure a sale. Again, some locations are probably good, but I know of several stories where people were handed the wrong parts even after they provided the part numbers of what they wanted. One was even told to modify a shock to fit lol.

If you do choose you buy from 4WP, just do your research first and go in knowing exactly what you want. This advice works for pretty much any retailer.

Correct, and check the box part number with what you ordered before walking away.

Yes, I usually order through Transamerican though for that dealer pricing.

Yeah, if I go to 4WP I get the same dealer pricing too.

Thats right when i ordered my truetrac the guy asked me which model number i needed.. i wasnt sure, he offered to call Eaton to find out. I called ECGS just to make sure he wasnt pulling a fast one and he ended up with the same part number as me.

Their site is probably compiled by a bunch of fresh kids into the work force so their Listings/descriptions are useless.

The only time I used them was to buy a compressor on a time crunch. Essentially needed it the next day and they told me they could overnight it to the store from their warehouse.

Everything worked out great and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Getting work done by them would be a different story for me though, something about chains just weirds me out.

I use the store in Charlotte NC for tires only (mount & balance). Never had an issue other than them being slow as grandmas walker.

I've been using the San Jose store for years, always fell like I get a good deal and treated well. I've bought tons of wheels and tires, they seem to be the only ones that can accurately balance 35"+ tires.

I bought my 295/75/16 KbrO2's from them, and no one could come close to their price. No tax, free shipping and free mount and balance, and the tires price was cheaper than America's and Tire Rack. I remember the days of buy 3 get one free on Pro Comp Tires.

The first time I went to my local 4wheel parts, I drove my 77' Scout.
The guys inside had no clue what it was.
Luckily they still honored their price match on the 4" lift I wanted.
Don't think I'll take my Taco there.
They don't seem interested in anything that isn't a jeep.

There's a place like this about a 2 iron from my front door. I thought about getting a quote for suspension work that I'd rather not do myself, but they seem so Jeep-bro that I can't bring myself to ask.

Do not take your vehicle there. Jeep bros. Will tell you anything to make a sale. Bought my tires there because of a "visa gift card rebate". Turns out the salesman lied and it was just a rebate card for THEIR store. By the time I got the rebate card there was less than 2 weeks on the "gift card" until expiration date. Also service is terrible. Needed a tire patched and it took them 3 and a half hours to patch it. "Sorry we only have 1 tech in on Saturdays" was their response. Not open Sundays so apparently if you need work done you're going to need to schedule it during the normal mon-fri work week. What a joke. Completely and totally regret doing any business with them. Buy only hard goods from this place.
