?

What would you do?

  1. Accept the "Recycled Bumper"

  2. Argue that it's of subpar quality as to the original bumper on the truck.

Insurance always goes for cheaper depending on what the part is . It sucks because you shouldn't have to settle for a cheaper alternative or seconds

    Pretty much stock right now
I did the same thing with my aftermarket bumper.

The EOM rear bumpers on all the Tacomas I've owned rusted out. That may be less of an issue at your location. They're not very heavy duty. Either is the trucks frame behind the rear wheels. My aftermarket bumper is no better, and showing signs of rust after a few winters.

Take care of yourself first, then have your truck frame checked out.

Really bummed about that... Kinda a deal breaker as well.

Well it's getting turned over to USAA. At this point I'm fed up. Progressive is still denying fault, which I can't blame them- it's what they're paid to do. They put in a court order for security footage from the Zaxby's nearby and they aren't even sure that will have it. Just pissed.

PT Cruiser was issued a ticket for reversing into the Vovlo. Both occupants in the Volvo verbally stated they witnessed the PT reverse lights on. I verbally stated I saw them go backwards into the PT. And TWO people in the PT verbally stated to me that they put the car in reverse when they hit the Volvo.

Originally Progressive stated the PT driver said she thought there was a 4th vehicle involved that hit the Volvo first. Now, after seeing the photos of the damage they are claiming the Volvo hit the cruiser and there wasn't a 4th vehicle.

    Beyond pissed. :frusty:

Update! For those of you who actually care enough to know how it ended lol

Progressive finally accepted fault last week. The other two drivers are entering a lawsuit but I could care less about that. My trucks frame ended up being bent/kinked in two different spots on the drivers side; right behind the cab and then above the rear wheel (let that be a lesson to those who said it wouldn't be bent);) in addition to the obvious bumper damage. The truck was dropped off for frame repair Monday morning and I just got it back today at which point I also discovered damage to the bed of the truck. Waiting to hear back from Progressive as to how we will remedy this. I took a check and will be putting it towards the Pelfreybilt bumper that's hopefully going to be available this September.

As far as medical goes I countered and settled at around 2x what they initially offered me. Concussion symptoms are gone and everything has pretty much returned to normal for the most part so I'll be able to pocket the majority of it. I'm glad I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! Thanks for the advice on things y'all! I'll be sure to post back when I make my rear bumper selection :bananadance:
