:pout: I had one of those too (grandfathers old husky 55) never skipped a beat. then my dad wanted it back so I had to pony up and buy one. we've got too many trees around our house not to have a saw on hand. but hey, now I get to start fresh with a saw. I just hope its half as good as the old one. doubt it, but we'll see.

When you change the chain flip the bar over, helps keeping straight cuts.

It fits my needs, Offroading/overlanding. I'm not gonna be cutting down any giant sequoia tree. Plus it is easy to stow away. Plus plus free, except the fuel line I put in it.

The ironic part is...I interviewed with Stihl years ago in VA Beach....weird place, then interviewed with Husqvarna last year, turned it down though because it was too far a commute. That place seemed pretty cool.

I do wish I had more experience with felling and the whole process. all ive ever really done is clean up when trees come down on their own.

I'm pretty decent at felling trees, but my heavy duty logging experience is limited. I know some climbers and some guys that can drop trees on a dime. Not only that, but rig them up to fall and swing between houses, trees, power lines, etc. Those guys have serious skills.

Nope, never ended up at Stihl. Thing is...most of the heavy duty commercial saws and equipment are built in Germany, while the retail type stuff you find at Lowes is built in the US. Same thing with Husqvarna, the commercial stuff is in Sweden, while the retail stuff is in Charlotte.
