    Greetings!

I've got really hard water which causes terrible water spotting, so I have to completely dry anything I wash. I'd like to buy a filter so I can skip the drying process, as it will really help with my boat as well.

I don't want to go the route of a water softener, and also don't want to invest a fortune either. Is anyone using a reasonably priced filter system, and does it work? I've seen cartridge filters (a smaller version similar to those used for pools), but I don't know if it would filter sufficiently.

    Any recommendations?

Hard water is usually caused by a high iron content. Those cartridge type diatom filters do not work on removing iron.

I have an iron/sulphur removal system for my well water, and I still prefer to go to the car wash.

Vinegar gets rid of water marks.

Not trolling, sounds weird but it works. Had a water mark issue on my F-150 a few years back, thought it was paint stripping it was so bad. Tech came out with a spray bottle of vinegar, sprayed, let it set for a couple minutes then wiped right off.

It absolutely does...I use vinegar on the boat to combat salt, and also use it to flush our tankless water heater...

This is the one I'm thinking of trying: I may even opt for the dual filter set-up.
