Body shop paint thinner then a coat of wax. I use that work and watch for the plastic parts.

 

good to know, thanks! i just debadged and still have a slight bit of the glue residue. should be good to go now for this weekends wax on wax off.

I just debadged mine and from the looks of yours we have the same color truck. Luckly I have a buddy that has a detail shop. We did a light color sanding, and then a 2 stage buffing. Looks good as new. I know this is a little more in depth than most would do, but my paint looked just like yours, and it scared the hell out of me. Didn't cost me anything, but I bet you could have a shop do your entire truck for around 50-100 bucks. At least then if they mess it up, they get to pay to fix it!

goo gone and meguiars cleaner wax FTW! I supplemant w/a coat of NXT Tech Wax too.

 

I used some body shop quality adhesive remover...then used an electric high speed buffer with a light cut pad and some polishing compund. then went with a fine polish pad with polishing compund and then waxed. Good as new

 

x3, I have the same color and my truck did the same thing- Meguilars took care of it.

 

3M Adhesive Remover, then wax. WD40 will remove most any sticky residue with no damage, and I don't think it will strip the wax like the 3M . Clay Bar should work but may be overkill. Dissolve it instead
To Debadge: Heat with Heat Gun, or Hair Dryer (Debadge NOT Melt) and when the adhesive becomes pliable, drip some 3M Adhesive Remover behind it from above. Should come off W/O a lot of effort. Then Wax.

 

Wow, I grew up a mile from there lol. If that is the best you got you haven'y been looking in the right places. Try out in Carmel by the Boy Scout Camp out there.

 

ive only been up in carmel to the flying arrow before bow season but ill have to find this boy scout camp n give it a try...we've been getting tons of rain n flooding so i bet its nice n muddy up there.

 

I can guarantee you there is no reputable detail shop that will do a wetsand and compound/polish on a whole truck for 100. I ran a detail biz for 4 years before selling and I wouldnt look at a car for 100.
wetsand>compound>polish> wax on a truck, you'd be looking at 1k or more. Then again, the likelihood of ever having to wetsand a whole vehicle for a detail is slim to none.

 

Rubbing compound then a quick spot of a wax cleaner, looks good as new
