My wife's allergies are raging. Mine however, have been conspicuously absent this year. For that I am happy.

Lucky you! I've been doing good until today. Seems like the pills didn't worked...

The only thing I can credit for low allergy symptoms this year is, I've been wearing a dust mask when I cut grass. 8 acres of healthy fescue grass puts off a LOT of grass pollen.

Hurricane Harvey is now officially in Central Kentucky. Wind is blowing and rain is falling. It has 2 of our 3 dogs rattled. That equates to me not sleeping.

    Shit.

Off we go! Headed to the 24 hour a day Fed Ex freight depot to pick up a crate from Pelfreybilt. This one should contain the front bumper that will now be the permanent front bumper. Will switch it out when I get home today. We're drawing close to the end of this phase of "construction".

Just one more section of skid to install, fog lights to wire, and swap the front coils.

Then we start phase III. "Quick Fist" tool mounts, a shovel and an axe go in once all the pieces arrive. It never will end.....

Note to self; NEVER show up @ Fed Ex freight terminal @ shift change. Must be 50 fork llifts parked and ONE moving. My box is last thing to come off the trailer being unloaded. Freight clerk says expect an hour before they get to it.

So why did you all tell me it was ready to pick up?

Spending the morning eating McDonalds Rubber McMuffin, watching FedEx trucks come and go, and my crate not being loaded into my truck.

After a bit of confusion @ FedEx, getting a soaking wet box out of the truck and in the garage, dealing with a wet garage floor, we now have the correct bumper on and DONE!

I am now a big fan of powder coating. So consistant of a finish.

Many thanks to Mike @ Pelfreybilt

Pictures when monsoon season is over. Rain is really coming down now.

BTW, pulled 1st bumper, stripped lights and winch, installed them on new bumper, and re-installed. Put tools away. Done, start to finish in an hour and 20 minutes! Working on trucks is a whole lot more enjoyable when it's cool. 56 degees, windy, and pouring rain. Beats the hell out of working in 95 degree humid, stagnent air. I can deal with rain/wet.

That look on the birds face...!

I've always been an animal lover. But in the last 4 years, since I got our Jenday conure Jeni, birds have taken on a whole new meaning. She's a "best friend from another species". We talk regularly. She's got an attitude. And she's a pretty good judge of chatacter.

Everyone should own birds. Multiple birds.

This particular bumper normally sells for over $1300. They're "on sale" for $1099. Freight is around $250 IIRC

If interested, I can PM you the contact info.
