truck is a 2003 Tacoma prerunner. Right now, I have the bilsteins with 3 settings, set on the middle perch, factory springs. Rear is stock with bilsteins. I purchased both sets from down south Motorsports a few years ago. I am looking to lift the truck another 1" to 2" front and rear. looking fo suggestions as to what parts work, and work together. Most of my stuff is in the desert, no creepy crawly stuff. I will continue to run 265/75 tires.

Front I can do a coilover and upper arm, rear, mini pack and new shock, anyway, looking for suggestions as to what works, what does notIMG_2195.jpg

I'm going to be the broken record here. You've been a member for 4 years now, there are literally hundreds upon hundreds of posts on suspension. Searching and reading is the first step. See what others have done to their trucks.

I spent months reading and deciding before I purchased.

For you, if the shocks are OK then get taller front springs and drop the notch down. Get a new rear leaf pack that can handle the cap/topper/camper/canopy (w/e you call it) and any extra weight you carry.

There are also vendors that you can source info from depending on what you want to do with the truck (street queen, crawler, double duty).

    GL in your research :)

    ^ what @frizzman said.

How much you looking to spend is the limiting factor.

If you wanna play you gotta pay

    Pretty much stock right now
What happened to your 16" rims?

I get a small lift (1 1/2) with OME 880s in front and Wheeler's 5 leafs in the back.

As mentioned above, did tons of research beforehand on what others were doing, but it really came down to the budget, and that I did not want any lift. It's very hard to upgrade and not have any lift over stock, so I ended up with this. I am off-road enough for occupational/farming purposes, but have never needed anything higher. For me, better tires are more important than higher lift.

Geez. A guy posts a question and you come in with that opening statement. Way to be productive.
Was a simple question. Anyway, pound sand.
And to anyone else that responded, thanks.

honestly, half the posts on the first page are about suspension. I'll make some glass with the sand.

I also offered a suggestion and some info, but that's up to you if actually paid attention past the first sentence.

GL with your search, and keep your wallet in close check

I won't be rude like one of the first posts but he was right. There "are" hundreds of posts on this forum for every Taco made discussing suspension options. I read every single one of them before I replaced the suspension on my 2004 RC 2.7 4X4 and I am happy with what I installed. It cost me just over $2000 though.

You can also just call any of the suspension "outfitters" mentioned on this site and tell them what you want. They will be more than happy to recommend a suspension kit. I bought mine from "Wheeler's" and was very happy with their customer service as well as the suspension I bought.

Yes, I really wanted Kings or another real high quality shock but my OME with Deaver J59's in the rear and 880 OME springs up front works for my DD. I will, however, give some serious consideration to King's or another very high quality brand the next time around since my concern as far as exposed shafts where I live with the salt and sand blasting on the roads in the winter has been slightly quelled due to various covers that are available and the robust materials the shock shaft's are made out of by King and others.

The only complaint about the suspension I bought from OME is that is isn't as compliant as I would like but after all, it is a truck so it isn't a surprise that it rides fairly stiff with a suspension designed for carrying heavy loads in the Outback of Austrailia on very rough, washboard roads and I knew that before I bought it. No one can expect a truck to ride like a Cadillac. Especially without a load which is the case with me 90% of the time.

I'll say this. My OME Nitrochargers after 2 years of Wyoming winters look like they are 20 years old but still work like new. OME definitely makes a shock that you can put on and forget about which is what I needed for my DD use. I don't have time to be pulling shocks every year and rebuilding them like I may very well have to do with the exposed shafts on the high end shocks.

The stellar ride just isn't worth it.
