Dealer said my truck meets the leaf spring recall req's. It's an 07. Should I go ahead with the fix or just keep my olds ones?

    Do you have aftermarket springs?

    Suspension is stock.

I am worried that they will eff something up, or that the new leaf springs will affect the ride.

OME CS047R Dakar leaf springs, OME 2885 coils (3/8" spacers, and 1/4" on driver side), Bilstein 5100s, Light Racing UCAs, ToyTec sway bar relocate, N-Fab 2" nerf steps, Bestop Supertop, BlackRhino Glamis wheels 17x9, extended diff breather mod.
If you are fine with your ride and don't plan on hauling anything, then I'd leave it. I personally would get it fixed. I'd feel better about having new springs, which is why I changed mine to aftermarket immediately upon buying my 2010. Plus, if you decide to get new aftermarket leaf springs later, the bolts will be nice and loose. :)

I would go ahead with it, had mine done last year at the dealer, ride changed a little when off road flexing no more ting and thud (mainly cause I had a broken leaf, big safety issue, can possibly puncture gas tank), also rear end feels a little stiffer and loads don't sag as much, but wish I would of had them replace the shocks during that time (because free labor) due to mine having 120,000 miles on them.

Got it. I'll go ahead with the recall.

The truck has been good to be since new. Has a little over 260,000 miles, and functions just as well as it did when new.

My truck is an 07 as well with 180000+ miles on it. I have no reason to doubt the springs on there, but if Toyota is going to replace them free I don't see how it can hurt. I've been on a waiting list for about a year. Last time I talked to the local dealer they said they "hoped" they could get to me before the end of the year.

Just got mine done on the '09. Ride improved, and was fairly smooth as I drove it to Carmax today, never to be seen again. I blasted Toyota in the service survey. Took them 10 days to get parts to the dealer. Go in and make an appointment and get them to commit to having or ordering the parts before your truck ends up parked up on the roof for two weeks. I say go in because the on-line appointment system doesn't let you explain you want the recall done.

10 days is fast. I took mine in for the inspection in July and they didn't get the parts to do the work until December.
