Just to start. My Tacoma is a 2001 SR5 3.4L X-Cab manual in Black Sand Pearl. I loved this truck for over 8 years. Ever since me and my buddies drove my buddies brand new (at the time) Tacoma across the country, I fell in love with Tacoma trucks. I finally got mine many years later with 130,497 miles on it. But, easily the best vehicle I've ever owned. I didn't know too much about Tacomas when I bought mine. All I knew is that I wanted the V6 and the TRD. I'm so very glad that I bought the truck that I did. As the engine is super reliable. Bulletproof! If you take care of it. I've put money into my truck, but worth every penny. I've replaced brakes twice, rear axle (W/used one), battery twice, fuel filter (3-4 times), Tires once (probably got another year left), Steering bushings and such, shocks, oil changes religiously, radio/cd player (with stock), clutch, and other misc. repairs. I try to keep everything as stock as I can. I'm that guy who believes if the factory built it that way, then that's the way it should probably be. I respect other peoples mods and lifts and whatever. To each their own. But my truck looks and drives for what I want.
I want to drive my truck till the wheels fall off, or the frame falls apart. (Mine has minimal rust at best) I've tried to garage it everyday since I bought it. I believe that keeping your truck out of the elements helps secure longevity.
I've read tons of posts from here recently, didn't even know this forum existed till recently. (Sorry)
I've learned a lot from all of your posts. Thanks for that info and advice. I hope that I can help out others with proposing questions and possible analytical responses. Thanks!
