So just wanted to show a pic of a 3rd gen loaded down with water. I'm not from Houston or even Texas for that matter, but I'm living here now. Ended up driving nearby Houston recently and it was so sad. I got home and went to the store. Calculated how many bottles of water my Taco could hold in the bed and bought as many as I could afford/haul. These are going directly to fire and emergency responders down in the Houston area, many of whom have flooded homes themselves. They get minimal relief and provisions unfortunately and are overworked like crazy! No bullshit Red Cross "administrative" fees hidden on these trips.

I'm trying to do another load soon but just graduated and dunno how many of these trips I can affor since I don't have a great job yet. Last haul cost me out of pocket over $400. If anyone is interested in pitching towards round two or three hopefully, let me know. I'm about an hour and a half away (each direction). If you wanna pitch towards bottled water, TP, diapers, blankets or something else I can transport ie. canned or non perishable goods, etc feel free. Please include a note if you have a preference on what you want to go to next trip. Thanks you all and I hope to replace more Tacoma relief trips!

Please include a note if you have preferences on what you want sent. Otherwise it'll go to canned goods, water, or whatever else they request.

No spam email please. Anything helps!

    Ehhh all will be well.
Soon all will be as it was and there will be more precautions next time something is perceived like this. I mean let's face it with what's going on in the world things are going to change every five to ten years:plane:

The asshole police chief (who came from Austin) has been instructing his cronies to disarm people on-site or don't receive any help. Houston and Austin are not like most of the rest of Texas.

Sorry about the original post. Did it from my phone last night. I have rotated the images! I am pretty sure they have no legal ground to disarm me if my pistol is located within my truck (since it is an extension of the home).

    Luckily I didn't get shot! :bikewheelie2:

Did suck trying to fuel up down there. Next time I am bringing auxiliary tanks with me

You don't seem to understand... legal ground or not, they're doing it.

Just to clarify, they are randomly searching people bringing in provisions and relief? :censored: that..

It might be limited to just those 'affected', meaning victims being rescued, and maybe not helpers... so you might be alright.. but there are also instances of cops turning away relief people.

Some of the feeds I follow have video evidence.

Exactly! I figured they might be refusing to offer aid to the vistims if they are carrying. There is just too much risk, but they can't keep people who are offering aid from carrying within their own vehicles (out of sight). This is America Gdamnit! lol

And why is that? I don't understand the logic, if there is any?

Just wanted to post a shout-out to the unidentified member who donated $50 towards next Houston trip and didn't even bother identifying him (or her) self! (Hoping to go middle of this week for round two!).

I got a veteran friend with a 5-Tonn military transport vehicle who routinely goes down too (seen in pictures above). Anyone who lives nearby (College Station, TX area) and wants to drop off provisions (Non-perishable goods only please) feel free to DM me and I can get you in touch with him or I can meet up with you if he isn't available.

Hand sanitizer, bottled water, diapers, TP, canned or dried food (preferably water tight) and items similar to this are probably the most useful. Kids clothing, and other easy to transport items will be best. If you donate cash and have a preference towards the items you want purchased, please make a note with it, otherwise it will go towards whatever they claim they need most.

If you are nearby in the area and want to make a Tacoma Convoy over a weekend or something, feel free to hit me up . Always cool to represent the Toyota Tacoma folks for a good cause. :)
