    For the ham radio, what would you recommend? I see the Walkie talkie type and the box set one.

    LMAO!!! :D:p:laughing::laugh:

    @Darthxtopher People typically get the Baofeng UV-5R radios (see below at the bottom of the page). Most, if not ALL, of the UV models are, more or less, the same. The main difference is the case/chassis it is in, that I know of. But, just get the UV-5R V2+ if you want to be on the safe side. In short, there are too many models that are too similar (no REAL significance from one from the other).

    If you have more questions I will try to answer them for you.

    It really is that tame. If you want "recovery gear" to start, I would personally recommend, at the very least, a recovery strap. Obviously a spare tire and the tools to change your tire with. A compressor would be nice to have, but not crucial.

    Recovery Gear (NOTE: at the very least):
    -spare tire w/ tire changing tools
    -recovery strap
    -air compressor (this is optional really, to start with)

    That is all a friend of mine started with and what I started with!!! One of my friends originally had a 2wd and did SHI* with it that would just make your jaw drop and I was with him!!! So, compared to Santiago Peak, it is tame for sure.

    With all of that said, it is still typically a rule of thumb, either way, that you NEVER go out on a trail by yourself... whether easy or not!!!

    @Tacotruck7 The vid clip below is NOT Santiago Peak, but it is basically what you will see on that trail. This particular trail I did in Anza Borrego a little while back. But anyways, just to give you an idea of what, more or less, to expect when going up Santiago Peak (a.k.a. Santa Ana mountains). The ONLY thing I can think of is that there are some loose rock/dirt areas, but I know of a FEW people that are 2wd that made it through with very little issues. Just use common sense to NOT dig yourself in if you start to dig in... back up your vehicle... try to do a different path and/or get a better running start. Other than that, it can be done in 2wd. Just TRY to go with another rig whether a trail is easy or not like I said in the other post. Digging in or whatever is the least of your worries. I mean, honestly, if your spindle breaks, shock/coilover somehow craps on you, etc... WTF GOOD is having a Hi-Lift Jack or recovery strap is going to do for you when you are ALONE on a trail???!!! Some food for thought on that one. :thumbsup: Another reason to have comms and multiple forms of, in my humble opinion!!!

    Anybody ever heard of rotopax puncturing its self and leaking??? It was a hot day in the upper 90's and it looked like the rotopax swelled up and the lock holding it on actually punctured the gas can at the lower point. I was not off roaring at all. It has been parked for the last 3 days.20170902_165821.jpg 20170902_165956.jpg 20170902_170035.jpg

    Are the caps NOT "breathable" to compensate for expanding gases??? :notsure: Or they CAN do it, but it would no longer be "C.A.R.B. legal"?! o_O

    EDIT:
    I know you no longer live in Kali, but you had these even before you moved is why I'm asking the question.
