If your going downhill with the cruise on. The cruise control might have it in 5th gear to do some engine braking.

Not bad. Cruise set at 70ish the whole way. Pensacola to New Orleans.

My speedo isn't right so if you compensate for tires, that's 21.49 MPG.

Man I'm on the fence so badly over this. Like many others, with the sale and 1.02 coming I'm very tempted.

But already having the SSP, and enjoying what that has done for the goofy trans, I can't decide if an additional 4x the cost of the SSP is worth it to me.

I guess what I'm hoping for is a review from someone that has had the SSP and the tune. I know it's a huge thread and somewhere it's been mentioned, but I can't find anything going into the cost/benefit of each.

I guess the reason why I'm on the fence so much is because I love what the SSP has done, but occasionally find myself wishing for that little extra power off the line and pulling up hills and such.

So for those that have had both, is 4x the cost of the SSP worth the benefit of what you feel like you've gained with the tune?

It is not a fair comparison. One is a crutch, the other is a root fix. Not bashing the SSP at all...it does what it needs to... But that's it. No more features or expansion. With the tune, it will be ever enhancing and tweak-able. Plus a little extra power never hurts.

wish list and I think Im buying today...

Less engine braking.... - I think this robs so much of us out of mpg.
More HP/torque - the Lexus with a similar engine gets 311 hp... there should be no reason we cant get close to that
A little higher Idle* - this is because when you run the AC it violently revs when the AC clutch engages from 500-900 rpm and its super aggressive when it does it.
Better MPG over all - Im running 4.88 and even before that I got like 11mpg's in the city. it sucked. I dont know why its so stupid

Less engine braking = more fuel being put into the cylinder to reduce vacuum. Does quite the opposite in terms out outright fuel usage.

Better mpg... I get 22mpg in traffic and 30mpg on a run, if you run offroad tires expect crap gas mileage.

He sells more than just this tune and I'm fairly sure it started off in the 1800's when he released this.

4x the cost is worth it knowing I don't have some device hooked to my ECU from a guy who makes out of his garage.

SSP is cool and all, but the dude seriously started selling them 4 months after he made one.

Are the reviews great? Yes. But it doesn't fix the root problem.

flash your ECU, don't trick it.

This is also great for anyone who might be driving your truck. A little insurance..

Not bad at all !! I know you have the tune installed plus the exhaust. Is this mileage with 87 or 91 octane ? I just did a 1200 mile round trip between Tampa and the NC mountains with a stock 16 Limited (have SSP installed ) and averaged 22.5/23.5 MPG. Running at around 75 MPH , 2 people, AC all the way in moderate traffic. Never did that good before the SSP installation.

Don't have a PC or laptop or a lot of knowledge about computers in general but i pulled the trigger and ordered.....!!!!
Hopefully I can figure this out or get some help to get this installed.
The reviews stating that this makes the trucks driveability so much better than stock is what i'm after.
Love the truck and have it paid off and cant take the loss selling it so hoping this makes difference we all were hoping for from the factory.

This is with 93 octane from Exxon.

On the way there I had 93 from Shell but my speed was 80ish and I had 2 other guys with me. That got me about 17.8 MPGs.

    22.5!
