One other question, if I go with a 2" lift, do I need to do the diff drop?

 

my buddy just had to put a new wheel bearing in his, it was humming bad like aggressive tires.

 

It's for sure the left side wheel bearing. Ordering parts tomorrow and get it taken care of so I can start doing a few mods. I think I'm going with the Bilstein 5100's and Toyotec add a leaf for my lift.

 

I'd suggest new coils and struts, vs. 5100's. Unless you have a free use of a shop, with 5100's your looking at couple hundred bux for the 5100's and another couple hundred to install them. Then, after all of that money spent... they kind of suck. You end up with compressed OEM springs. Spend another $500 and you can buy longer/better springs and the struts with lower mounts. End result is alot better. I did spacers, 5100's then new springs and coils. I have use of a shop, I wasted a whole bunch of money and time on 5100's and spacers.

 

I'm not sure what I want to do yet. I mostly need a lift to get a little bigger tire under my Tacoma and truthfully, it's 90% for looks. I have a built 100 Series Land Cruiser that I trail ride with so when I hit some serious trails I'm taking the cruiser. Do you think I would be a lot better off just doing spacers and do a leveling kit? I only want 265/75R16 tires so I could probably put them on with stock suspension but I want a little lift for looks.
