    Hey Guys

I have to replace my left front door check and the Front Door glass Run that was bent by the bent door check.

Wondering if anyone out there had done this and if I have to take the glass out to replace the run.

    Thanks in advance

    Chris

Door check can be had on Amazon for $70-ish, and it's literally a 10 minute job. Glass up, pull the door panel off. You'll see the mounting bolts, there are two of them on the inside and one on the body pillar. Remove, put the new one on. Easy peezy.

Here's the one I ordered and installed on my 4Runner. You'll have to find the part number for your own truck. Same part number for left and right side, you just flip them over.

Thanks very much Bud. How about the front door glass run , I have circled it on the PDF attachment below. It is called the Front door Front lower frame sub- assembly. This was bent by the door check and the window stops half way down.

Wondering if I have to take the glass out to replace this.

this is just an FYI re: 2009 tacoma door checks. I had front and rear door checks worn out. I was able to find a reasonably priced new non-dealer replacement for the front on internet but nothing at all for the rear except from dealers at exorbitant prices. After searching the tacoma forums off-on for days someone mentioned using a camry door check. For the hell of it - I ordered a 2009 camry rear door check on ebay ($10) and it fits exactly. Luckily - being used - it was not worn out and works fine. I also see that it is easier to find cheaper new camry rear door checks on internet than tacoma ones. Hope this is helpful to someone.

I think that piece can be replaced without the window being removed with the window rolled up all the way.

    Some Finesse may be required.
