    Hello forum,

I am currently looking to buy a used Tacoma 4x4. Im 47 years old, but my son will be 16 in 4 years so I am buying a Tacoma with the intention to hand it down to him. I currently drive a Nissan Titan 4x4. I will be buying around October - November this year. It will be my daily driver till its time for him to have it.

He loves the look of the Tacoma and wants to get it decked out in the coming years. So that when its his, it will be the way he likes it.

I came here to see how Tacoma users use and outfit their trucks. We are avid hunters and love to fish. A few boats to tow and an ATV or two to tow. We take lots of cross country trips hunting too so mileage is a good thing for me.

I fully intend to put these things on the truck:
    • a lift kit on what ever truck I buy unless it already has one.
    • 5 channel amp and dvd player w a few small subwoofers
    • remote start
    • seat covers for the muddy days ahead
    • all weather floor liners
    • tonneau cover
The big reason I am here is to ask the folks a few questions:
I'm torn between a 2015 (gen 2) and a 2016 (gen 3). Is the new engine better? worse? i don't drive fast or crazy but i do love throttle response. Can Tacoma's improve Throttle response?

I suppose the aftermarket options are much bigger for the Gen 2 than the Gen 3's. I still like the look of the 2016 vs 2015.

Whats the best thread to look at users trucks?

the lift kit thread is insanely large....might take a while to muck thru it.

    Thanks...
