So I just got my roof rack installed (no cut out in the windshield) and there is an insane amount of wind noise when driving on the highway. I couldn't even turn the radio up loud enough to block it out. Once I get home from work today I will try adjusting the windshield to the lower mounting holes. But does anyone have any tips on how to get rid of the noise? I forgot to order the edge trim when I bought the rack and now they want more in shipping cost for it then the trim its self costs.

I have it on the lower mounting holes and with the edge trim. no vibration or excess wind noise. The wind noise is mainly the whistle from the plano boxes on the roof now.

I'm looking to do the same on the wind noise - If you look back people have used the "no door ding" / door guard pieces to stop the noise.

the pins are Maxtrax mounts, they bolt through a piece of L shaped aluminum from Home Depot.

Alright just adjusted the windshield so that it is actually touching the top of the cab now. Also went to auto zone and bought a section of that door trim for $10, that seems so work pretty well. The noise is much better now, I can still hear is up there but its not that bad anymore.

Just thought I'd throw up an update on this seal. 10 months later and countless downpours and no issue with leaks. No issues with the rack mounting points either. She's water tight!

I know that it's been awhile since you posted this up, but thank you for doing so... i was looking for something like this, but didn't have a clue if it even existed (didn't even think of Marine usages) .. but it does! Amazon awaits!

My own 40" has been riding around quite unconnected upstairs for 4-5 months now, while i casually tried to figure out how to get that wiring loom inside properly, without doing grievous damage in doing so.

Update - I finally received my missing parts today. I guess CBI decided to sit on them another week after confirming with Zach which parts were missing. I called them last Thursday and they had not sent them out nor set them aside. The person I spoke with went in back to see if they had them, took my address down, and when I provided my email to receive a tracking number he just reluctantly said they would try to send me the tracking info...they didn't. I followed up again this week via email and Zach got back to me with the tracking info(even though it should have been CBI responding) as the brown truck was pulling up. I'm glad I finally received the missing parts, I figured I would but wasn't sure how much longer it was going to take.
Bottom line(IMHO and experience), after the response I got from CBI sitting on the missing parts for another week and then not caring to send me tracking info, CBI's customer service completely sucks. I won't be buying anything from them in the future, unless it is absolutely necessary for the Prinsu rack(which I will do whatever I can to source parts elsewhere or fab them myself).

WOW! pretty Harsh. I am sure that they are pretty slammed and they are trying to play catch up on the influx of orders and from obtaining Prinsu from Zack. Possibly just a misunderstanding, just giving them the benefit of the doubt as I am awaiting my rack from them at the end of the month.

I went with a TJM awning. There was a group buy here not long ago. They are sold by boss 4x4.
