Getting a Taco tomorrow, it's an '06. My first concern is the lack of an auxiliary port, so a headunit is my first go-to. I couldn't find any info on this from searching the forum or Google.

Crutchfield lists two different steering wheel control kits at checkout. They don't do a good job explaining the differences, but I did specify my model is without a JBL stereo. I just want to be sure, and minimize effort during this installation.

One is a combination of these three wire sets:
The other is a combined kit:
    • PAC RP4.2-TY11
For the combined kit, in the description, it says it's for retaining the JBL stereo. Do you need to have the JBL stereo for it? Is it basically a universal set for multiple models to reduce headache? I'm too impatient to wait for Crutchfield's business hours. I'm excited.

    Welcome to TW!

Crutchfield has some of the best customer support in the business, don't hesitate to give them a call for help answering your questions. It is better to order the right thing the first time than jump the gin on the wrong product and not figure it out till after you tear your truck apart.
