So my pads started squeeling and found out that to have new pads put on and rotors resurfaced it was gonna cost about $140 plus tax..

After searching online I found these stoptech slotted and cross drilled rotors with pads for $106 shipped to my door. They were discounted down from about $200. Figure why pay more for stock when I can upgrade and save by doing it myself.

Weather dependent I will have these on tomorrow or more than likely Sunday.

Very interested to see how you like them. Where did you get them if you don't mind me asking?

My old chevy truck I was building to race I has put slotted brakes on for cost and stopping. Loved how much better they worked over factory. Hope I like these as much even though I have no plans to race this truck.. I will report back on how it goes

So I went through what came with this kit and found that it comes with W clips and cotter pins.. also had new pins that hold pads in place to replace old ones.. Rain is holding up the install..

I bought a set of power stop rotors with evolution brake pads. They were better than the oem brakes for sure. My own brakes pulsed something horrible after about 25k miles. I haven't had a repeat issue since replacing. You'll probably notice a difference with those.

Definitely make sure to replace all the clips. While I was replacing my pads, somehow I missed putting the W clip on and the pads made a constant clicking noise. Once I realized my mistake, I bought new clips, put them on and the noise stopped.

Ill be sure to replace the clips with the new ones. Want to see how the new pins fit before I decide to leave them.

Got them installed. Decided to try from the side with a block of wood instead of lifting both at once..

The only part that came with this kit that I didn't use were the W clips. They were not bent to the proper angle so I used the ones I already had. Can always go back and pull a pin and install new ones if needed.

Easy to install upgrade. If I can do it with a partial torn ligament in my right hand (dominant hand) and a repaired completely torn ligament in left hand, then anyone can do this with simple hand tools like I did.

I will post back in a few days on how much of a difference I notice.. other than my brakes don't squeal anymore..

So day to day driving they don't feel any different, didn't notice anything in my last truck with slotted brakes either.. Now having to stop quick, I would say they are a much better improvement. I have not had the chance to really tow anything heavy with it yet, but I am sure its going to stop better.

I have the drilled/slotted Stoptech rotors and put the rears from a 4runner on for my disc conversion. Mine cost around $230 I think but they are black on non-braking surfaces. Might want to check and verify they are authentic if you care about that type thing. Can dig up the P/N if you're interested.

EDIT: Installed the Stoptech drilled/slotted with Hawk super duty brake pads on front/rear and didn't notice a significant braking improvement. I did however experience enough brake fade to the point of not being able to stop and some serious smoking. It was one of the fastest descents I've done and may not have anything to do with the setup. I've just never noticed significant fade with the OEM brakes, but I only had a couple weeks on them in Colorado before swapping.
